Accurately assessing energy needs is a major challenge for horse breeders. High energy provision—whether from concentrate or green grass—can have serious consequences, especially for horses originally adapted to resource-poor environments. These horses require a grain-free feed, which is therefore low in starch and sugar.

However, relying on hay and straw alone does not cover the needs for minerals and functional elements.

Glucogard® provides, in addition to a balanced range of micronutrients:

Antioxidants

Protective phytonutrients that help compensate for deficiencies. Main vital elements
From brewer's yeast: B-complex vitamins and trivalent chromium.
Essential minerals: magnesium, zinc, manganese.
Antioxidants: vitamin E and selenium to protect cells from oxidative stress.

Particularly important for obese horses: Supporting hoof health (Hoof Complex), which is at high risk in this category.

Thanks to its protective phytonutrients, GlucoGuard® naturally contributes to maintaining hoof health.

Directions for use

In cases of overweight (BCS 6), severe obesity (BCS 7–8), or severe metabolic problems:
Approximately 45 g per 100 kg body weight per day.

Can be dissolved in water and administered by oral syringe.

Duration of use: At least 3 months, after which it can be continued permanently (with the possibility of reducing the dose).

For metabolic support and prevention:
Approximately 20 g per 100 kg body weight per day.

Note: At this amount, there is no need to add any additional mineral supplements.
We recommend combining it with Equigard® as a basal feed.
One scoop = 120 grams
Feeding Guidelines
Because this supplement contains higher levels of vitamins and trace elements than complete feeds, it should only be fed to horses up to 3% of the total daily ration (including hay).
Please adhere to the specified feeding recommendations.
